Do you love football and fancy taking a chance to see if your team has what it takes to both impress Oxford United FC and win the 'Game of Chance' 5-a-side tournament? Then find out more below and enter now!

This free tournament is open to both men's and ladies teams, with groups for both to enter and win! There will be fun activities between games, where you can have the chance to win great prizes or risk winning a booby prize!

To enter you must be aged 16-24 and currently reside in Oxfordshire. Kick off is 6pm - 10pm Wednesday 29th October at St Gregorys on Cricket Rd, with after tournament entertainment on offer at the O2 Academy.

You can have a maximum of eight player's per squad, all players must be aged 16-24 and currently reside in
Oxfordshire. Teams can be either men's or ladies, as we have places for 18 men's teams and 6 women's teams.

How will i know if my team has secured a place?

All teams must submit their application via this website. The tournament is open to 18 men's teams and 6 women's teams and is on a first come, first served basis. You will recieve an email response to confirm your place or to let you know that you have just missed out and that all places are now allocated.

Legal High's?

The tournament is brought to you by Oxfordshire County Council's & Oxford United FC, as part of the Game of Chance campaign to raise awareness about the risks and chances presented from taking substances know as Legal High's. Why is there a 16-24
age limit?

People aged 16-24 are most likely to come into contact with substances known as legal highs. The Game of Chance campaign (see www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/legalhighs) that has organised this tournament wants to connect with this age group and highlight the risks and chances that people take when consuming these substances.

What's happening after the tournament finishes at 10pm?

The O2 Academy is opening it's doors at 10:30pm for all the teams to attend.

Is it open to both men's
and women's teams?

Yes both open to mens and womens. Women are encouraged to play in mens team but there is no obligation.

What do I need to bring?

  • Astroturf Trainers or Trainers
  • No football boots
  • Changing facilities at venue - can leave stuff inside changing rooms and shower facilities available

Will there be medical supervision?

Players play at their own risk – However, there will be a medical person on site.

Will the winning team get a trophy?

The winning team will be presented with a magnificent trophy crowning them champiuons of the first ever ‘Game of Chance’ 5-a-side challenge.

The Rules!

  • 8 minute matches straight through
  • No off sides
  • Rolling subs
  • No restricted area
  • Pass back rule applies
  • All free kicks direct
  • Under arm throw ins
  • Goalkeepers do have an area

Please respect the referee's decision - their decision is final!

How many people can I have in my squad?

This is up to you! But we would suggest a 5-a-side squad of 7 or 8 people

Are there yellow or red cards?

The tournament will be facilitated by FA qualified referees. Yellow and red cards will be present and sending's off = one match ban.

No Draws Allowed!

This is a tournament designed to highlight the risks of taking a chance! So prior to kick off both captains will engage in coin toss by the ref. The winning captain of the coin toss will secure their team the match win in the event of a draw after the 8 minute game.
